I come from a family of artists, so it seems art has always been a part of my life. Drawing pictures for my grandparents as a child, creating costumes and handmade gifts for my own children, and now teaching and sharing my love of art with my grandchildren. In the early nineties I returned to school to complete a Graphic Design degree at Lane Community College. I spent seven weeks in Italy, attending Satoko Motouji's "Water Color in Sienna" class, through the University of Oregon. I have also been a student of local artist LaVonne Tarbox-Crone. As a watercolorist I have developed a colorful and whimsical style that is all my own. Many artists work from a still life or photos, but my paintings are inspired by life and then re-imagined in my compositions. Since 2000, I have worked with my three sons in our family business, Mazet Studios. All three of my sons are glass artists and sell their work in fine galleries across the United States and here at the Saturday Market. (Booth #347 Sat Mkt and #165A at Holiday Mkt) For over eight years we also owned and operated the Imagine Gallery in downtown Eugene. Initially starting as a coop at the 5th Street Market, we eventually grew to represent over 100 Oregon artists. The gallery closed in March 2013. It has been a great opportunity for me to be able to meet and work with so many artists, on so many different levels.
