Jay Tavris’ Wildlife Photography consists primarily of canvas photographs of animals indigenous to the Pacific Northwest. My photographs include a large variety of Birds from Hummingbirds, Heron, Egrets, Pelicans, Owls, Puffins and Raptors. I will include at every Saturday Market a variety of Semi Aquatic Mammals such as Beavers, Sea and River Otters and Mink as well as Land Mammals common to the area such as Elk, Fox, and Raccoons. I have taken trips to National Parks and will include photos of Moose, Badgers, Alligators and Grizzly Bear, as well a variety of National Parks including Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Idaho and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming as well as the Oralndo Wetlands Park in Florida. I lease a wide format commercial printer from Canon and print all of the photographs myself in sizes from 8″x8″ to 16″x20″. As the photographs from Jay Tavris’ Wildlife photography are almost entirely printed on fine art canvas, they are all framed. I make two styles of frames. I make frames made of molding, 3/4″ thick on all sides, which I stretch the canvas over on all sides, neatly and professionally folding the corners in the back and stapling with a staple gun. I use an air compressor, nail and staple gun and miter saw to make these frames, and I spray the photos with a Urethane spray to protect them from Ultraviolet Rays. I make a larger frame made of Poplar that is planned, routed, sanded and stained, which the frame made of molding fits perfectly into.
