“Oceanfront Property without taxes” and ‘a piece of the ocean in the palm of your hands” are a couple of the phrases Judy and Paul Hiscocks use to describe Seascapes artwork, which come in a variety of sizes and shapes- a unique gift for any occasion!
Celestial Tides was started in 1996 by Judy, with a strong background in stained glass. As the passion flourished into a business, Paul joined in what is now a full-time lifestyle for both of them. Each individualy handcrafted by this husband wife duo out of their Veneta, Oregon based studio. They are long-standing members of Eugene Saturday Market, Holiday Market, and Yachats Farmers Market.
Because everything is loose inside the beveled glass seascapes, they are meant to be picked up and turned to make a different scene every time! “We make ‘em, you shake ‘em” and “please touch” can be read on some of the signs posted at their art booth, along with the free seashells for kids. Each encases a starfish, a sand dollar, sea glass, a variety of seashells and other undersea ocean treasures.
“Keepsakes in glass” describes a growing part of celestial tides’ custom products. Your grandmother’s ring, a child’s first tooth, or even ashes of a beloved family member or pet can be preserved in a beautiful display: treasures that can be kept forever. A wedding date or a baby’s birth can be etched in a sand dollar can be placed in a seascape to memorialize those special moments in life- maybe even your next memorable trip.
