July 2005 Beautiful Booth of the Month Award:
Colleen Fancher
Necken Flaxen
|
 |
| Colleen Fancher's booth, Necken Flaxen, is the Beautiful Booth of the Month for July. Surely you can see why! It's colorful, well organized, and very inviting. The coordinated backdrop, table cover and the fun flags across the front define the space. The color is calming. The products even coordinate with the surroundings.
Colleen makes flax seed hot and cold packs and buckwheat hull filled pillows from 100% cotton fabrics. The flax packs are microwavable and freezable. When heated, the flax seeds stay warm for up to 20 minutes. They are great for soothing aching necks and sore joints, for easing cramps and many other uses.
As a lifelong fabric addict, I can appreciate Colleen's joy at finding an outlet for her love of beautiful cloth. What a wonderful thing to be able to share these lovely colors and textures with the world, and make some money at the same time. She tells me she's been sewing ever since she made herself a dress at age seven. Her years of sewing really show in the precision of the work and the great choices of material. It's also great to be able to offer such a helpful and comforting product.
You can find Colleen and her booth in space 55, just up the steps from the fountain on the west Park Block.
