September 2006 Beautiful Booth of the Month Award:

Linda & Lynn Brown
The Silver Lining

It's a visual feast, Linda and Lynn Brown's booth. Gorgeous colors and textures fill the place to the brim, and yet it feels expansive once you're standing in the midst of it all. Somehow, in sixty-four square feet, they've managed to design the space to accomodate both a women's fine clothing boutique and a kid's clothes store. The left side of the booth is lined with racks of delicious burn-out velvet shawls, skirts, scarves and jackets. Many are beaded and deeply fringed, all are highly desireable, as far as I'm concerned! The other side of the booth is dedicated to whimsical hand knit baby hats and booties, felted wool knit jackets, and pretty fairy skirts for children. The booth is extra tall, and allows for more display space along the top. The summertime white lace roof and sides give visual definition to the space without blocking the light.

Linda Brown learned her handcrafting skills as a youngster, learning sewing from her mom and knitting from her dad. She says that she loves to make clothing, sewing and especially knitting. You can usually find her sitting in the corner of her booth and knitting - on those rare occasions when the booth isn't filled with folks who have been drawn in to feast their eyes...

You can find Linda and Lynn in their beautiful boutique in booth 88, along Oak Street on the East (food court) Block.
